MEMBER TOOLS

Logbook, sign-out form, equipment status

The paper logbooks (one for sailboats, one for kayaks/SUPs/windsurfs) are accessible at the desk in our main club room

Before taking any craft on the water:

  • check its reported status/ condition on the whiteboard
  • check that it is not already signed out in the logbook
  • fill the sign-out form

Upon return, report any issue/snag/damaged item:

  • on the whiteboard, so that other members are aware of it
  • email the fleet captain or bosun, so that they can plan the required repair

Additional tools:

Work hour Submission Form

After completing a task agreed upon with a supervisor (Steering Committee member or Fleet Captain or Bosun), use this form to submit your work hours.

Reimbursement Request Form

Use this form if you:

  • bought something for the club at the request of an executive
  • worked more than 8 hours and want your work deposit refunded (note: you can choose to roll it over to next year instead)
You need to be logged in to your Google account to fill out this form. If you are unable to reach the reimbursement form, please email your request to treasurer@ubcsailing.org

Forum/Group Chats

Since the 2022 season, most members have preferred to use our Whatsapp groups instead for such purposes. This includes finding skippers and crew (see how many / who in the club could sail with you, and when they may be available) specific to your fleet. They are also a great way to reach out and volunteer to help with fleet maintenance, asking about detailed fleet status, submit snags, see what needs to be done, and offer to fix (or learn how) in exchange for work hours.
