Rolling is the best way to recover from a capsize. Success is based mainly on proper technique and not on strength, meaning that all paddlers can benefit from some carefully personalized instruction. It will likely require you to practice a lot after the class, and finding a suitable partner to do this with is a must!

During the 5 hours (2 sessions of 2.5h each, in the evening) of total instruction we will work primarily on two aspects:
A) get you comfortable under water, and
B) go through all of the steps necessary to execute a roll.
It is also recommended that you wear additional layers under and over your wetsuit, and you’re welcome to bring ear plug if you need them.

Prerequisites:

  • Ability to swim and rig your kayak efficiently
  • Confidence to perform wet exits, solo and assisted-rescues
  • Intermediate paddling skills is desirable, but not mandatory

Please note: wetsuits are required for all kayak lessons, all season long.
If you purchase a wetsuit from our Merchandise page, you must make sure to get it by registering for one of our Office Hours @Jericho, prior to your first lesson.

If this lesson is full, please register on our Kayak Rolling Waitlist to be notified when more spots become available.
