Registration

Happy on flat water, but want to try something more... dynamic? We will be trying to find some local area with current where you can get a feel for how manage your boat in moving water.

We will be likely needing to paddle to Stanley Park, so you should be comfortable covering that distance and back, and still have some energy for the fun stuff.  It possible that we will be crossing to Ambleside as well.

Focus will be on the basics of identifying current, crossing eddy lines safely and simple ideas for ferrying.

Intermediate Certificate is required, if you have only the basic kayaking certification please email the organizer to see if this is the right course for you.

Exact meeting time will be determined later.

Prerequisites:
- registered as a JSCA member for the current season
- registered as a UBC Sailing Club member for the current season
- previously passed a intermediate kayaking course or proficiency exam in our club
- wetsuit or drysuit, booties/shoes...and any gear you require to not get cold in/on the water

Location: meet up at the picnic tables in front of the JSCA corner office, changed, with your kayak gear, your kayak signed out.
