Fleet Frenzy: Season Opener Relay

Ahoy, UBC Sailors! Welcome back to another wonderful season. And a special shout-out to all sea enthusiasts, experienced or not! It's time to navigate the waters, celebrate our community, and kick off our season together.

Get ready to make waves at our Relay race & barbecue! Whether you've sailed before or have never stepped into a kayak, this is your perfect opportunity. Non-members are welcomed! Pair up with an experienced UBC Sailor and test out your sea legs! 

Relay Race Highlights

 1. Kayaking Kicks-Off!   - Ready, set, paddle! Take your team flag, show off your speed in a kayak and set the pace for the teams!  

2. Paddle away - Grab your team flag from the kayaker, get ready to paddle and keep up the good momentum.

3. Windsurfing Whirlwind   -Harness the wind and show your skill! Participants will need to navigate upwind and make their way around a buoy before handing off to the sailing team.  

4. Sailing to the Finish   - Hoist the sail, catch the perfect wind, and navigate your way to victory. The sailors will need to return their flag back to the beach first to be crowned winners.. 

We finish the day with a barbecue and time to socialize by the picnic tables!
