High Performance Guideline

High Performance Safety Guidelines

These should not be considered an exhaustive list of rules. If in the opinion of the high performance executive a failure to exercise common sense or a breach of general club policies occurs, you may be held accountable even if no explicitly stated rule is broken. If you don’t understand these rules, please contact hp@ubcsailing.org
1. Skiffs (RS500 & RS800)

1.1. Skiffs must be sailed with 2 people on board, both must be members in good standing of the UBC Sailing Club.

1.2. The following table lists privileges/requirements for the crew/skipper depending on the highest lesson the skipper has passed. If a member has completed a proficiency exam rather than the UBC SC lesson program, they should contact the high performance fleet captain to confirm their credentials. Ignorance of your credentials will not be considered a valid excuse.

1.3. Only training sails are allowed to be used during lessons. Race use sails may not be used for lessons without approval from a member of the high performance executive. Race sail bags are marked with an R.
